We’re proud to announce a major milestone for our community: Drifa’s Leap is now officially live in Canada.
This launch marks an important step forward in our mission to build a handmade marketplace that truly serves artists and makers—while giving buyers access to authentic, artist-created goods they can trust.
With Canada now live, Drifa’s Leap is officially a North American handmade marketplace, connecting creators and customers across the U.S. and Canada.
This expansion supports three important groups within our community:
Canadian artists and makers, who can now open shops and sell on Drifa’s Leap
U.S.-based sellers, who can choose to sell to Canadian buyers
Buyers, who now have access to a broader range of verified handmade goods
As always, participation is flexible. Sellers remain in full control of where they ship and how they run their shops.
Canadian sellers are now fully supported on Drifa’s Leap.
When you open a shop, you’ll benefit from:
A handmade-only marketplace—no mass-produced imports
Transparent checkout with applicable GST, HST, and PST handled by the platform
Full control over pricing, shipping, and availability
A community built for artists, by artists, with the artist’s success in mind
If you’ve been waiting for a marketplace that prioritizes craftsmanship, originality, and fair treatment of creators, we’re glad you’re here.
Selling to Canada is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time.
If you choose to sell to Canadian buyers, here’s what to know:
Drifa’s Leap collects and remits applicable Canadian GST/HST/PST
No VAT applies to Canadian sales
Many U.S.-made handmade goods qualify as duty-free under USMCA
Accurate HS codes and country-of-origin declarations are important for smooth customs processing
USPS → Canada Post is often the most cost-effective option
Private carriers may charge brokerage fees at delivery
Any brokerage or customs fees—if assessed—are determined by the carrier or Canadian customs and paid by the buyer at delivery
You remain in control of your shop settings and can adjust cross-border sales at any time.
With Canada live, buyers can now shop from verified handmade artists across both the U.S. and Canada.
What hasn’t changed:
No drop-shipping
No mass-produced imports
No AI-generated “art”
Just real artists, real craftsmanship, and one-of-a-kind handmade goods.
While Drifa’s Leap assists with tax collection and provides guidance, sellers remain responsible for:
Accurate product descriptions
Correct HS code classification
Truthful country-of-origin declarations
Compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian laws
We believe transparency builds trust—for artists and buyers alike.
Sellers can manage Canadian sales anytime by visiting:
Shop Settings- Shop Owner Info
From there, you can:
Enable or disable Canadian sales
Review shipping and customs information
Decide what works best for your business
There’s no obligation to sell cross-border—only the option.
Drifa’s Leap was created to support artists, not algorithms.
This Canada launch strengthens:
Cross-border visibility for independent makers
Trust with buyers who care about authenticity
A growing community rooted in fair, transparent practices
We’re excited to take this step together—and we’re just getting started.
