Ann Taylor, known as Drifa in the creative world, is the visionary behind Drifa’s Leap. Her journey as an artist and entrepreneur is rooted in a rich tapestry of life experiences and a passion for historical craftsmanship.
Born and raised in the town of Woodland, Washington, Ann’s creative spirit was nurtured from an early age. A high school exchange program to Australia not only broadened her horizons but also led her to meet her future husband. Together, they’ve built a loving family with three children and two grandchildren, all of whom share Ann’s enthusiasm for artistic pursuits.
In 2005, Ann and her family embarked on an amazing journey into historical reenactment. This immersive experience ignited a spark that would soon become a burning passion for traditional crafts. Just a year later, Ann discovered her love for weaving, quickly mastering the art and beginning to sell her creations.
Drifa’s Leap was born on February 29th, 2024–Leap Day. This date symbolizes the courage it takes for artists to “leap” into the world of entrepreneurship. Ann’s vision for Drifa’s Leap stems from her own experiences and observations of fellow artists struggling with online marketplaces that often prioritize profits over creators.
As both an artist and an entrepreneur, Ann understands the challenges creatives face when trying to share their work with the world. She witnessed friends’ excitement turn to frustration as popular platforms priced them out of viability. This inspired her to create a space where artists could thrive, connect with customers, and make their mark on the world without compromising their artistic integrity or financial stability.
At Drifa’s Leap, we believe every artist deserves a platform that truly supports their creative journey. We’re committed to fostering a community where passion meets opportunity, where traditional crafts meet modern e-commerce, and where every creative can take their own leap towards success.
Join us in celebrating the art of the possible, where your creations can find their rightful place in the world, and your dreams become success.

Why will creators (Leapsters) want to move from the other sites to Leap?
Consider this from one of our Pilot Leapsters Jeanne C. Wood of Morgainaware.
"I dislike their policies of nagging their artists to get them to offer free shipping. It really is nagging. If an artist raises their prices to include free shipping, then E*** gets a bigger commission off the sold work."
At Leap we will actively discourage free shipping for JUST for this reason. If an artist must raise their price to cover shipping to attract buyers through the search engine, that's only good for whomever is getting the commission, not the artist!
There will not be a search function encouraging "free shipping" for customers on Leap.
Better for the creator, less of their profits being taken in commission. Better for the buyers to not be paying higher prices to average out the shipping across all buyer locations.
"Every day is Leap Day"
"It is my pleasure to support Drifa's Leap - I've been looking for a platform that understands and respects artists, and values their work over mass-reproduced items. I think this team can achieve great things, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will benefit artists and the buyers who value handmade and artisanal goods."
"We are looking forward to working with a company that has our small business interests in mind. It's hard enough to work for every penny we earn. With Leap, we feel we will be able to build a successful business and community."
