I've been a "medievalist" since the fifth grade, when my elementary school teacher recommended "The Hobbit," igniting a lifelong love of medieval literature, history and art. In High School, I began fighting within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), and have been in-harness more or less continually since 1981. Taking a doctorate in history from the University of North Texas, I taught at Hawai'i Pacific University, worked for the POW-MIA Accounting Agency, and did two tours in Afghanistan. Today, I teach history, strategy and military planning at the U.S. Air Force's Command & Staff College (ACSC). In my "spare" time, I continue to create; Archeo Studios serves as my creative outlet in an effort to make the tournament field and, life in general, a more beautiful place.
