After being dragged into trying weaving by a long time friend in 2020 I fell down the weaving rabbit hole. Now, a few years later and I’m the proud owner of 3 floor looms, 2 rigid heddle looms and DIY backstrap pin looms. I’ve been sampling all kinds of weaving and patterns but have particularly loved weaving with rags I get from recycling sheets. I weave them into rugs, table runners, placemats, trivets and mug rugs. I’m also finding I enjoy weaving wool rugs and am gradually moving more in that direction. I also weave baby blankets for new great nieces and nephews from my 14 nieces and nephews, table linens for our home, scarves for gifts and other fun projects to try out new weaving techniques.
I’m not really interested in becoming a production weaver, but by selling the surplus products I weave on my journey I can send them to homes where they will be appreciated and allow me to continue to fund my weaving habit.
