Text of the poem reads:
To the White Rose Bush in the Side Yard
Forgive me, for I have just now realized
That you have unfolded probably
Thirty miracles this month
Right by the driveway, opening each
Delicate birth, petal by petal
Slowly and preciously while I
Shuffled by with the dog,
Yanked up a handful of weeds,
Moped about that terrible man in office
And even once took a picture
Without stopping to gasp
And marvel and stay
A whole afternoon staring
At the holy offerings you have built
Again and again
While the world turned its own
Impossible, heartbreaking turns,
Breaking into beauty
For us, again and again.
