This set contains 7 samples in total. Incense is suitable for burning on hot ashes/charcoal tablets.
Reconstruction fragrances based on extant texts, dating from 6th to 16th century CE. Made from rare resins, herbs, roots and barks.
1. The incense for scenting clothes (Brhat Samhita India, 6th century CE).
2. The incense which calms royal tempers Kopacchada (Brhat Samhita, India, 6th century).
3. Perfumed powder for rubbing body before bath, fit for use by kings, attracts bees from 9th century India, text called ''Haramekhala'' by Mahuka.
4. Ointment called Naramohana which is suitable for the divine kingdom (from Kamaratnam by Nityanathasiddha, 13th century).
5. Incense stick called Madanadbhava tending to arouse passion (Nāgara Sarvasva by Padmashri, 11th century).
6. Incense made according to rules of Tantric Buddhism preserved in a 11th century Tibetan text, The Kalacakratantra.
7. Incense made according to a recipe from a love manual called Anangaranga (16th century).
