Our sustainable 100% wool hot pads have original needle felted designs on top of a solid wool base. They’re then wet felted in a washing machine to lock the fibers together into a solid fabric. The wet felting process gives the felt a strong, irregular edge.

Unscented: All of our hot pads are machine washed and dried with unscented detergent and no fabric softener or dryer sheets.

Cat-approved: These pads are made in a house with a cat. He loves to sit on the projects while we work on them, so the shop can’t guarantee our hot-pads are cat fur free. We do machine wash them before storing them, though, so they should be dander free.

Care: To keep this hot pad exactly the same after washing, wash by hand and dry flat.

What if your hot pad accidentally gets tossed into the wash?

You may see a small amount of shrinkage, but likely not so much that the hot pad would be unusable. Our initial wash causes the majority of the shrinkage the felt is going to do.

It may warp or twist – a good steam iron will straighten it back out.
