Cobalt Teal is a semi-transparent aqua blue/turquoise with the strong granulation typical of cobalts. Beautiful on its own and versatile as mixing color, try mixing this color with bright synthetic colors to create interesting separating colors.

Note: This color is difficult to accurately photograph and looks more green leaning and turquoise like than it appears to be in these photos.

    Safety Warning:

This paint includes a cobalt pigment.  Cobalt pigments are toxic if inhaled (in a dry pigment form) or ingested.  The paint is safe once the pigment is mulled into the binder, but DO NOT ingest the paint and wash hands after use.  This paint is not recommended or safe for children.

    Ingredients and process:

These watercolors are handmade and hand mulled in small batches and are made with high quality pigment, gum arabic, corn syrup, glycerin, and potassium sorbate (preservative). The paint contains no fillers and is carefully formulated to be highly pigmented and easy to activate.

Care Instructions: Store paints in a cool dry location and let them dry after use before storage. Doing so will help prevent mold from forming on your paints. A preservative is included to limit the risk of mold growth, but it may happen regardless if stored improperly, especially in hot humid conditions.  I formulate my paints in a dry climate, and watercolor paint responds differently depending on humidity and climate.  If you live in a humid and/or hot climate, paints may get slightly sticky or take longer to dry.  If you have any issues or concerns with the paint, please contact me directly.

We aim to be consistent and precise, but due to the handmade nature some variation and imperfections may occur (i.e. cracks, small bubbles). Fortunately, these imperfections do not affect the quality of the paint.  The colors may also look different in person than they do on your screen/monitor. The paper quality and type will influence the colors and granulation you can achieve. We recommend 100% cotton paper to showcase the paints at their best. Lightfast ratings are currently based on pigment information, we'll be doing our own lightfast testing and sharing the results when they're ready.
