Made to order Birka wallets from Birka Grave 750. This wallet is a lovely little object that is just perfect for Viking reenactors, merchants and more. The pockets hold a modern credit card perfectly despite being designed for hacksilver and trade weights. The roomy interior can be reached through a horizontal slot and makes an excellent coin pouch. Each wallet is made of 2-4oz deer, lamb or calfskin with hand-cut decorative chisel-punched lacing in a contrast color of your choice, a deerlace cord surrounding the perimeter of the wallet, and a decorative wood, bone or glass bead to act as a toggle closure. The interior stitching of each wallet is hand punched saddle stitching with .6mm linen thread.
I currently have seven colors available for both the body of the wallet and the decorative chisel-punched lacing: ivory, gold, black, chocolate, tobacco (listed as SaddleBrown), eggplant (listed as Purple) and pine (listed as ForestGreen). After you order, I will message you to confirm the contrast lacing color and bead closure options. If you would like a leather color not listed here, message me and I can talk through options of colors available at Tandy and The Leather Guy. All wallets will come default with the overall lacing layout of the ivory wallet in the listing pictures, which I call the simplified TV pattern. The lacing itself will be much tighter like the gold and black wallets, but the starburst/compass pattern of those two is not available. Additional bars of lacing can be added for $10 to $25 depending on complexity. A full recreation of the original Birka wallet adds four long bars of lacing for a total price of $200. If additional lacing is requested, I will send you a hidden listing for that purchase.
