This vase was thrown in three parts. The base was thrown in white clay. Then I made a small "Nerikomi" slab of colored clays mixed in an abstract design. This was placed on the white base and thrown together, after drying a bit, the top of white clay was thrown onto the Nerikomi slab. Then all of it was sanded. It was then covered with a food safe clear glaze which I formulated myself and fired in my kiln at stoneware temperatures. Please look at the thumbnail photos for details of how each side of the vase is different.
A vase that will be as attractive as a focal point in your home, or as a container for a bouquet of fresh flowers, or a stunning dried flower and weed arrangement.
Glazed on the exterior and interior to be waterproof. It is 9 in. tall.
